Healthbeat: Simon Muchemwa and Joshua Sibanda

February 7, 2009

SW Radio Africa correspondent Simon Muchemwa gives an update on the cholera situation. The rainy season is set to worsen things, and with children back at school there is a greater risk of them being exposed to cholera via pools of water mixed with raw sewage in the playgrounds. This is further exacerbated as the children are mostly unsupervised with many teachers still on strike. And Joshua Sibanda, a radiologist who is now based in the UK, gives his assessment of Zimbabwe’s healthcare delivery system and how healthcare workers are coping with the crisis.
